Grand Lido Negril is gently tucked into the glass-calm waters of a protected cove. Here the crystal Caribbean gently kisses the broad white sand of our own private piece of Negril's famous seven-mile beach. The stunning architecture of marble, glass and stone sprawls throughout the meticulously manicured grounds, blending into the natural contours of Negril's lush landscape.

The soft white beach offers every watersport you can dream of, as well as the quiet seclusion of gently swaying palms. There is also a secluded beach for those who prefer their sunbathing au naturel.

At Grand Lido Negril, service is always impeccable but never intrusive. Twenty-four hour room service. A strolling waitress on the beach. Service that is as warm and friendly as our tropical sun. ACTIVITIES

Land Sports:  Four tennis courts (two lit for night play), with lessons and tournaments arranged by resident pro; bicycle tours; beach volleyball; shuffleboard, volleyball, bicycles, table tennis, croquet.

Water Sports:   Windsurfing; sunfish sailing; water-skiing, kayaking; snorkeling; underwater-vision boat rides; scuba diving with daily dives for beginners (a resort course is also included. International PADI certification is available at an additional cost); two pools, one near main beach area, one on clothing-optional beach; five Jacuzzis.

Fitness Centre:  Complete fitness center with Nautilus, Lifecycle and Stairmaster equipment, as well as free weights; power walks, aquacise, aerobics, reggae and soca classes.

Three Club Houses:The Stone house, Timber House and Beach House offering light meals and full bar service 24 hours a day, complete with terrace area and Jacuzzis.

Indoor Activities:  Backgammon, cards, dominoes, pool tables, table tennis, and several board games are available for your enjoyment.

Video Theatre:  Open 24 hours daily, this comfortable room offers big screen satellite television and use of a VCR for viewing of your favorite movies.

DINING

At Grand Lido Negril we've created the standard of excellence for Caribbean dining with more culinary awards than any other Caribbean resort. And while awards are nice, it's the day to day adherence to rigid standards that gives the Grand Lido resorts our consistent taste of excellence. Chefs trained and imported from the finest kitchens of Europe. French, Italian, Caribbean, Japanese, American and Continental cuisine. Fresh pasta. Fine wines. Desserts that are barely legal. And as always, no tipping allowed. Not ever. Breakfast and lunch buffets are lavish and beautifully presented. Dining at Grand Lido Negril is a gustatory triumph, no matter the time of day.

Gran Terrazza: Casual, open-air buffet dining for breakfast and lunch and two sumptuous dinner buffets - Carnival Party on Wednesday and Grand Gala Buffet on Friday. Daily Afternoon Tea is also served in the marble foyer. Open 8:00 to 10:30am and 12:30 to 3:00 pm respectively. Dinner buffets from 7:00 to 10:00 pm weekly.

La Pasta:  Casual Italian restaurant. Open from 3:00pm to 2:00am daily.

Cafe Lido:  Specializing in continental dining, casually elegant atmosphere (no shorts). Open 7:00 to 10:00 pm nightly except Wednesday and Friday.

Piacere:  Fine nouvelle cuisine. Open for dinner from 7:00 to 9:30 pm daily except Friday. Reservations and jackets are required.

Room Service:  Twenty-four hour room service is also included.

Bars:  Our 9 bars are stocked with premium International and local brands of liquors. The Club House bars are open 24 hours a day.

ACCOMMODATIONS

210 junior suites and full suites. All suites include air-conditioning and ceiling fans, refrigerators stocked with soda, beer, water and juice, satellite televisions, AM/FM cassette entertainment systems, direct dial telephones, coffee and tea, telephones, 24 hour room service, hair dryers, iron & ironing board, in-room safe, laundry and dry cleaning service, and either a patio or a balcony.

Junior Suite Gardenview:  (24 suites):Large bedroom with king-size bed or two twin beds, sunken living room and small balcony or patio.

Junior Suite Oceanview: (38 suites): Suites face the rock cliffs or the clothing optional beach.

Junior Suite Beachfront: (122 suites): Suites face the main beach or the clothing optional beach.

One Bedroom Suite Beachfront:(16 rooms): Includes 5 piece wrought iron dining set, extra love seat, complete entertainment console and a minibar replenished daily.

Prime Minister's Suites and the Royal Suite:  Beautifully furnished and complete with all the amenities of our one bedroom luxury suite with an Executive Board Room, optional connecting bedroom available and separate dressing area.
