Franklyn D. Resort is Jamaica's first all-suite,

private setting familiar to that of an elegant Jamaican
home. Located in Runaway
Bay, these Seaside Suites are set on a private beach among lush foliage on
the Caribbean Sea. Runaway Bay is a self contained resort destination
with several attractions to visit, such as the Green Grotto Caves near Discovery
Bay which drops more than 100 ft and bottom out at Green Grotto Lake. There
you can take a boat ride and marvel at the natural rock formations.
Overlooking Discovery Bay (10 minutes ride from FDR) is Columbus Park, the island's only open air museum. Here you'll find an interesting and informative collection of artifacts that take you through the history of Jamaica. There is also Puerto Seco Beach, where FDR arranges family fun picnics. Runaway Bay is just 30 miles east of Ocho Rios. The Franklyn D. Resort includes in its rates, daily trips to Ocho Rios for shopping and for visiting Dunns River Falls.
This all-inclusive holiday features all meals, open bar, wine with lunch and dinner, entertainment, sports facilities, adult activities, teen activities and a Mini Club for children.

The most unique aspect of this resort is its Vacation Nanny concept whereby each family gets their own personal nanny to attend to their every need. Your friendly Vacation Nanny will babysit and be a companion to your children, thus enabling parents to capture the flavour of being in a Jamaican home while on holiday. The resort boasts a fully supervised Mini Club featuring a range of activities for children and a program designed for teenagers, while adults are free to indulge in a variety of sports and entertainment offered at the resort.
At the Franklyn D. Resort, we have given our guest the extra special touch to their holiday by providing them with their personal Vacation Nanny: a member of staff readily available to care for guests every need.
Your Vacation Nanny is highly trained and is on hand to take the worry out of your holiday. Warm, attentive and friendly, she also respects your privacy and will only be there when needed. Should parents need time alone to go shopping, scuba diving or participate in other activities, the Vacation Nanny will care for the children by taking them to the playground, by the poolside to play games, or for a stroll around the property. Vacation Nannies will also provide additional assistance to parents by bathing, dressing and feeding infants at meal times.
Family reunions are also a special time for the Vacation Nannies who are often called on to organize dinners, birthday parties and anniversaries for guests.

•The second Vacation Nanny will be available between the same hours of 9 a.m. to 4:40 p.m. at a minimum cost of $20 per day or any part of the day thereof, with 1 hour for lunch
•A baby-sitting charge of $3 per hour, per Vacation Nanny, is applicable to the Vacation Nanny assigned to the family as well as the second Vacation Nanny in the event baby-sitting is required after 4:40 p.m. This is paid directly to the Vacation Nanny.

At the Franklyn D. Resort there are supervised activities for kids ages 2 - 11 years. The Kiddies centre opens from 7:30 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. Here there are several activities for children of different age groups.
Facilities include: Computers, Super Nintendo Games, TV
Room,Art and Craft room with lessons, Shell collecting, Photography lessons,
Snorkelling lessons, Donkey rides, Tie dye lessons, Cooking and napkin folding
classes, Goat races, Beach picnics, Children's playground.
Teenagers have their own share of fun at The Franklyn D. Resort, where our trained teen co-ordinators will organize activities for the teens. Activities include: Aerobic lessons, video games, rap sessions, bike tours, Dunns River and shoppping tour, beach volleyball, art and craft lessons, treasure hunt, glass bottom boat ride, pool Olympics, snorkelling trips, staff and guest show, trips to the famous Green Grotto Caves, Reggae dance classes, Tie dye, friendship band making, basketball tournament, crab races, kayak races, Ocho Rios trips plus many more activities.
Sporting activities (and all equipment) included in your holiday package are: Tennis (lit for both day and night play), Scuba Diving (for beginners and certified divers), Snorkelling , Glass bottom boat rides, Sunfish sailing, Windsurfing, Table Tennis, Foosball, Air Hockey, Bicycles, Board games.
Entertainment includes: Floor shows, Live entertainment by local Cabaret artists, Magicians, Fashion Show for kiddies, Staff and Guest shows, Disco, Piano Bar, Karaoke sing alongs.
There are no rooms at the Franklyn D. Resort, but rather seventy six, (76) beautifully decorated one, two and three bedroom suites, fully self-contained with their own kitchen, patio or terrace and in-house satellite television.
1 Bedroom Suite
•Bedding: 1 king or 2 twin beds •Occupancy limits: 3 adults, 1 child, 4 total or 2 adults, 3 children, 5 total or 1 adult, 2 children, 3 total •A minimum of 2 adults are required in the room •Sofa bed in living room, TV, refrigerator, stove and dishes. Air-conditioning in bedrooms only.
2 Bedroom Suite
•Bedding: 1 king or 2 twin beds •Occupancy limits: 5 adults, 2-5 children, 7 total •A minimum of 3 adults are required in the room at all times •Sofa bed in living room, TV, refrigerator, stove and dishes. Air-conditioning in bedrooms only.
•If a family of 4 (which consists of 2 adults with 2 children under age 16) want to get a 2 bedroom suite they may upgrade upon check-in at the hotel for $150 gross per night based on availability. The 2 bedroom usually requires at least 3 paying adults. This special is valid for all of 1998. It is subject to change or termination.

Guests may dine in the Verandah international restaurant, The Pier Italian Restaurant or at the Seaside Grill. All meals are a pleasure for the palate as the resort's chef offers guests a delicate mix of Jamaican, International and Italian fare. Fresh papaya, mangoes in season, colourful garden salads, succulent steaks, a variety of pasta dishes and indigenous Jamaican food are prepared for guests.
The resort's quaint ocean view Piano Bar offers a quiet respite from the day's activities where guests may relax with a choice of top shelf liquor and soft piano music. Guests may also choose to have an afternoon cocktail from the Pool Bar while watching the sunset on the teak boardwalk.
Free weddings are being offered to guests. The minimum night stay required for the bride and groom is 7 nights. Arrangements must be made directly with the hotel. This offer includes the following:
